Five year plan:

On Wednesday night last we held our five year plan workshop. The meeting was exceptionally well attended and we would like to thank Jimmy Minogue from the county board who very generously got the ball rolling for us. We would also like to thank all who attended for their contributions to what will eventually shape the future of the club. Our five focus groups will now begin the work of distilling down our five year plan from the work done on Wednesday night. We wish them the best of luck with their endeavours and thank them for taking on this work on behalf of the club. We intend to publish the plan early in the New Year.

There was no winner of Monday 25th December’s Club Lotto jackpot, the numbers drawn were 9,11,16 & 26. This weeks draw was in Barry’s pub Newtown for a jackpot of €5,600. Next weeks draw Monday 9th December, will be held in Larkin’s, Garrykennedy. Thanks once again for your continued support.

GAA photo’s:

As you may know as part of a drive to honour Burgess teams past and to preserve the history of the club going forward we have appealed to our members and supporters for any historic photo’s that they might have so that we might scan them and reproduce them so as to display them in our new meeting rooms in Kilcolman. The response was fantastic. The first images are now hanging on the walls of Kilcolman and depict a wonderful record of Burgess teams down the ages. More images are being shared via facebook and other on-line means with our diaspora. We would like thank Mairead Darcy who was the driving force behind the project and her husband Dinny who made sure they were up and ready at short notice before last Fridays AGM.

This represents only a very good start with this project. So we renew the appeal for any photo’s you have that are of interest. Please contact club PRO Padraig Hogan or any club officer to organise to have your photo’d scanned returned to you.

Gym membership

Once again we would like to remind everyone that membership is still available to our wonderfully appointed club gym for the low, low price of €50 for 6 months. For further details please contact any club member or officer.
