Burgess GAA notes 24th February 2014

U21 Football:

Our u21 footballers were beaten by Newport Gaels on Saturday last by 4-7 to 0-7.  Hard luck lads.  We face Borrisokane on Saturday 1st of March in Borrisokane.

All County Table Quiz:

A fantastic night was had by all on Friday night last when Reidy’s pub was the venue for our heat of the all-county table quiz. The event was very well attended equalling last year’s impressive tally of 13 tables.  This year’s winning team was led by Donie Nealon, who incidentally was pipped in a tie breaker in last year’s heat. We wish Donie and his team every success in the county final.  We’re sure they’ll do the parish proud.

We also availed of the opportunity on the night to present our senior hurlers with the medals they won in last year’s Dr. Fogarty senior league against Nenagh Eire Og. Coincidentally we begin this year’s league campaign against Nenagh Eire Og. There is no firm fixture available at the time of writing for this game so please check the fixtures section of the Nenagh Guardian and the club Social Media pages for further details.

Enjoy!
