On Friday night last we in Burgess GAA were proud to launch our five year plan. We were honoured to have the county chairman Sean Nugent and north chairmen Rocky McGrath in attendance as well as the county secretary Tim Floyd all of whom were impressed with our plans for the future. The night itself was a great success and was well attended by club members of all ages. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the plan and launch night such a success.

Coaches Huddle:

Following on as one of the actions called out on our 5 year plan launch we had our first Coaches Huddle last Thursday night in Kilcoleman. It was very well attended and shows great enthusiasm among our coaches to improve themselves and their teams. This process is open to all in the parish who feel they have a contribution to make to the development of our games. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Juvenile notes:

Hard luck to our gallant U12 football team who gave a great performance on Saturday against Ballinahinch in very wet conditions in Kilcoleman. Aaron Sharkey opened the scoring with a point in the 8th minute. This was followed by a great goal from Michael Ryan. Ballinahinch replied with a goal and a point to leave the score level at half time. Burgess got two points in the second half from the boot of Eoin Grace and the hardworking Aaron Sharkey. Final score Ballinahinch 2 4 Burgess 1 3

Easter Camp:

An Easter camp will be held in Kilcolman from 10am to 1pm on Wed 16th to Fri 18th April. Please contact club Secretary on 086 3934363 if you are interested in doing this course.

Burgess GAA Lotto AGM:

The Lotto AGM will be held this Thursday 3rd April at 8pm in the new building at Kilcoleman. It is requested that all Committee Members attend this important meeting. The Lotto in the main fund raising arm for the club and all matters for the forthcoming year will be discussed. Anyone interested in joining the committee is welcome to attend on the night.

Burgess GAA Lotto Draw:

There was no winner of last week’s Jackpot. The numbers Drawn were 1, 9, 12 & 23. This week’s Draw was in Larkins, Garrykennedy on Monday 31th March. The Jackpot was €7,300 on the night. Next week’s Draw will be in Molly Bán’s, Nenagh on Monday 7th April. Thank you all for your continued support.

Last Man Standing:

The last man standing competition in aid of the senior players training fund now enters its seventh week with the majority of players still involved. The table can be viewed on the Burgess GAA facebook page and we would ask that all competitors get their selections in before 10pm on Friday next. Tonight, In front of a large assembly of Burgess Gaels, the Burgess GAA club proudly launched its five year plan. The club was honoured to have the county chairman Sean Nugent, North Chairman Rocky McGrath and county secretary Tim Floyd in attendance as our vision for the future direction of the club was unveiled.

 

 

The launch of the five year plan was paired with the official launch of the refurbished handball alley and the large crowd were treated to an exhibition match of the highest standard.

We would like to thank everyone who has and continues to contribute to our plans for the future development of the club in terms of games development, physical structures, financing, administration and promotion.

Though our plans are ambitious they are eminently achievable and exciting times lie ahead for the club as we embark on our five year journey of improvement and advancement. Limited supplies of the printed plan are still available for those who would prefer the traditional media and the plan is also downloadable on this link.

We would like to thank all  who prepared the hall for the launch and everyone who worked so hard preparing the wonderful refreshments that helped make the event such a great success.

Launch of Burgess GAA’S Five Year Plan!

Burgess GAA club are proud to announce the launch of our Five Year Plan tomorrow night, Friday 28th of March, at 7:30pm. The launch will be held in conjunction with Youghalarra Handball club who are officially opening the newly refurbished handball alley in Kilcolman. It promises to be a great night with exhibition handball matches in the newly revamped Alley. We will also have both the county and north chairmen in attendance to help us launch our vision for the future.

Please come along and join us as we share our exciting plans for the next five years while we celebrate the fantastic achievements of the handball club.

URGENT Senior League Fixture :Update:

Dr. Fogarty cup semi final vs ballingarry sat at 2.30 in ballingarry. This time is definite. Please spread the word and share.

Senior league Fixture :Update:

Burgess will face Ballingarry in Ballingarry at 4pm on Saturday the 29th of March next in the semi-final of the Dr. Fogarty league cup.

Burgess GAA lotto AGM:

Five Year Plan:

After hours of diligent and dedicated work our five year plan is now ready! The blueprint for the future development of the club is now on its way to the printers ahead of its Friday March 28th launch at 8pm. Details are being finalised for the launch event itself but early indications are that it promises to be a great night.

Hard luck to our u12 & u16 footballers who were beaten by Lorrha and Borrisokane.
