Burgess 3-14 Annacarty 0-17

Burgess got off to a flying start in this away league fixture when, inside the first minute, Brian Chopper Hogan took a great cross from Eoin Leahy Hogan and smashed it into the Annacarty net. Three minutes later Stephen Murray made the score 1-1 to no score with a pointed close range free . Annacarty with the aid of a strong wind had the game on level terms after 10 minutes, 1-1 to 0-4. Another Murray free restored the Burgess lead after 14 minutes. This was to prove short lived as Annacarty hit a purple patch shooting 3 unanswered points. Eoin Tossy Hogan stopped the rot in 22nd minute when he ghosted inside the Annacarty defence to be picked out by a Noel Gleeson pass and crashed home Burgess’s second goal of the day. Three more points, two by Eoin Leahy Hogan and a 65 by Stephan Murray, saw Burgess going in points up at half time, 2-5 to 0-9.

The second half saw Burgess off to another good start with Stephan Murray tagging on three point in the first five minutes to Annacartys one, one from play and two from frees.  The second half was turning into the Stephan Murray show with him adding a further three before Tossy Hogan grabbed his second goal of the day on the 37th minute to effectively win the game. Two more Murray points rounded out an impressive 3-14 to 0-17 away win
