Kilcolman Community Recreation & Development Society Centre:

We would like to thank everyone who attended Friday night’s opening of the Kilcolman Community Recreation & Development Society Centre. The night itself was both an enjoyable and well attended event. We would especially like to thank the North Tipp Leader Project team who contributed so much to the success of our centre. We would urge everyone to support North Tipp Leader Project http://www.ntlp.ie/ in its fight for survival in the face of Government cuts and “Alignment” measures.

Without the NTPL help the Kilcolman Community Recreation & Development Society Centre would never have been the success that it now is and would quiet possibly have never gotten off the ground. A short video of the speeches on the night can be viewed on the clubs YouTube channel http://youtu.be/EiFlubfAqs4 where the official blessing and speeches by Pat Cremin and  North Tipp leaders Ronan Gleeson are recorded. We would encourage everyone to do their upmost to support the NTLP especially at election time.

Monday 7th of Aprils Lotto draw produced no winner and the numbers drawn were 4,18,20 & 23. The 3 x €40 winners on the night were Aisling Cremin, Newtown  -Bill Duff c/o Madden’s –Margret Ryan, Ballywilliam.  This week’s draw for a jackpot of €7550 was held in Reidy’s, Newtown. Burgess beat the Mines

Burgess v Silvermines County Senior hurling championship 13th April 2014

With the aid of a stiff breeze Silvermines had raced into a 0-2 to 0-0 lead before Stephen Murray opened the Burgess account with a well taken point from play on fourth minute. After two more points for the Mines Stephen Murray was on hand again to point a free to make the score 0-2 to 0-4 with eight minutes elapsed. After nineteen minutes on the clock the score read Burgess 0-5 Silvermines 0-9 the Burgess scores coming by way of two more frees from Murray and an excellent point from play by Danny Ryan.

We then hit a pre-halftime purple patch firing over six points without reply into the wind. The scorers were Murray, Peter Gill, Eoin Tossy Hogan and Noel Gleeson. All of which sent us in with a healthy 0-11 to 0-9 half time lead.

The second half began with us firing an incredible three wide’s within the first minute and a half. The mines were less wasteful however and had the game level at eleven points each after three minutes. Points by Murray and Leahy had us holding a two point lead when disaster struck, a saved Jason Forde 21 metre free was somehow scrambled home to give the Silvermines an unlikely one point lead, 1-11 to 0-13. The mines lead was short lived thankfully, with scores from Donagh Maher, Stephen Murray and a fantastic brace inside a minute from Danny Ryan restoring the Burgess lead.

Silvermines only managed two more scores for the half while Burgess continued to tack on the points with further scores from Murray, Noel Gleeson, Leahy and an absolute beaut from the side-line by Brian Hogan to leave the final score Burgess 0-21 Silvermines 1-13.

Team : Niall McGrath, Jack O’Flaherty, Johnny Mulqueen, Mike O’Flaherty, Shane Maher, Donagh Maher, Conor Quigley, Daniel Ryan, Peter Gill, Damien O’Brien, Brian Hogan, Noel Gleeson, Eoin Hogan, Eoin Tossy Hogan, Stephen Murray, Subs used: John O’Dwyer, Bill O’Flaherty.
