Burgess GAA notes 26th August 2014

U16:


Well done to U16 team who beat Slivermines in Dolla on Monday 18th. This was a very tight game which Burgess snatched in the last puck of the game. Next game is against Borrisokane on Monday 25th see match report for details.

U14:

U14 team are taking part in the Newport tournament. Their first game is against Monaleen on Thursday 28th in Monaleen.
Community Games:
Congratulations to Michael Ryan who represented Tipperary in the Community Games long puck in Athlone recently. Michael came 9th in Ireland in this competition which is a great achievement for 11year old Michael.
Bag-packing:
The Juvenile club would like to thank all those who helped bag pack last Saturday in Dunnes Stores. Thanks very much to Dunnes Stores for allowing us to bag pack in their store.

Minor Hurling:


Our minor hurlers bowed out of the North Championship after a valiant display against Silvermines in Nenagh on Tuesday 19th last. We would like ot thank our players and management for their commitment throughout the year and we are sure better days lie ahead.

Senior Hurling:


Our Senior hurlers lifted the entire parish with their exploits in Nenagh on Sunday last when they defeated a fancied Kilruane outfit in the North senior semi-final. The scoreline of 1-16 t o 0-17 reflected how competitive the game was. This famous victory now places us in the North final against last years beaten county finalists, Eire Og Nenagh, on Sunday 14th of September. A full match report can be viewed here
