Burgess GAA notes 22nd September 2014

Senior North Final Replay:

Johnny Mulqueen in full flight

Our senior hurlers were in hard luck on Sunday in the North final replay. We fought hard but came up short on the day to a very good Eire Og team. Our lads have put in a massive effort this year and have made us very proud with the standard of hurling they have produced thus far. Hard luck lads and best of luck for the rest of the county championship.

Congratulations to Eire Og Nenagh who were worthy champions in the end.

U13 Hurling:

Hard luck to U13 team who were beaten by a margin of just one point by Newport Gales in  Newport last Friday evening in the U13 plate competition. Score Newport Gaels 5 -05 Burgess 4-09

U11 Hurling:

Burgess hosted a very successful U11 hurling blitz in Kilcoleman last Saturday in the glorious sunshine. 4 teams took part, Burgess, Portroe,  Newport and Kildangan. A great day was had by all the young hurlers and their families. A big thank you to Fergal McDonnell for all his hard work organising this blitz. Also thanks to Pat Gibson and Christy McLoughlin who were the referees for the day.
