Junior A Hurling:Our Junior A hurlers were beaten in their first outing of the year away to Toomevara in the North league on Saturday last. Conditions were terrible with high winds, rain and treacherous underfoot conditions. Final score Burgess 2-7 Toomevara 2-10. The team: P. Carroll, P. Hogan, W. Ryan, P. Woods, L. Howard, K. Ryan, T. Hogan, C. Gill, J. Ryan, W. Fogarty, J. O’Dwyer, T. O’Halloran, G. Howard, J.P. Grace.
Our senior hurlers will face Moyne Templetouhy in the first game of their county championship campaign on Saturday April 9th at 18:30 in Toomevara. We look forward to having you’re support for the lads on the day.
Juvenile Flag Day:
The Juvenile club held their annual flag day on Thursday last. It wasa great success and we would like to thank all who supported us in our efforts to raise funds on what will be a very expensive Feile year for the club. We would especially like to thank all who gave of their time on the day to man the collection tables.
Our minor footballers were narrowly beaten away to neighbours on Friday last. The final score Burgess 2-6 Port 1-10.
The club are holding a table quiz in aid of Ronald McDonald Houses and the Crumlin Childrens hospital Cardiac Unit on Friday April 1st in Barry’s Newtown at 8:30. There will be great spot prizes and it promises to be a great night in aid of a fantastic cause. Tables of 4 entry will have an entry fee of €40.
There was no winner of last week’s Lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 9, 17, 19 & 21. The 3 x €40 winners were Mary Kehoe c/o Pat Stanley, Mary Clifford Portroe & Aisling Grace Newtown. Sellers prize went to Matt Fogarty. This week’s draw was held in Molly Bàn’s for a Jackpot of €6,750. We thank you all for your continued support.
