Burgess GAA Notes 18th July 2016

Senior Hurling:
North Tipp senior Quarter Borrisokane v Burgess in Nenagh on Tuesday July 26th @ 7:00pm (should Co Footballers Loose on the 23rd the above fixture will go ahead if they win the fixture will go to Tuesday August 2nd same time same venue.)Please keep an eye the Guardian fixtures and the club’s social media in case of any late changes to the fixture. Please come out and support our lads.

Junior A hurling:

Our Junior A’s will take on Kiladangan on Friday July 22nd in Nenagh at 7:30. Please check the Guardian fixtures and the club’s social media in case of any changes to the fixture. All support greatly is appreciated.

Minor Hurling:

Our minors, though starting the game with only 14 players, had an excellent 2-22 to 4-14 away win over Templederry/Ballinahinch. Well done to all.

U14 Hurling:


Our u14’s had a good 4-14 to 1-3 win over Moneygall/Clonakenny last Thursday evening in Kilcoleman. Well done lads.

U16 Hurling:


We were defeated by Portroe on Sunday evening on a scoreline of 1-18 to 1-13. 

U8/U6 Hurling:


Our young hurlers braved wet conditions on Wednesday night last to take on Kiladangan in Kilcoleman. The young lads had a great time and we would like to thank Kiladangan for coming up to play us.

Yearbook:

As you may know we are compiling a yearbook of group photos and portraits this year. Here is a short tags of some of the work done so far.

Club Lotto:

There was no winner of last week’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 5, 16, 18 & 20. The 3x €40 winners were Sadie McGrath Newtown, Bernadette Darcy Ballywilliam & Aoife O’Brien, Ogonnelloe. Sellers prize Molly Bans. This weeks draw was in Reidy’s, Newtown for a Jackpot of €9,150. Tickets are a mere €2 each (3 for €5) play today!

Burgess GAA Notes 11th July 2016

Congratulations:


Well done to Donagh Maher and the senior Tipperary hurlers on their Munster final win at the weekend. Well done also to the minor hurlers who were also victorious.

Special Summer Camp:


The club was proud once again to host the special summer camp last week in Kilcoleman we would like to thank all the youngsters from the club who helped make it such a success.

Cul Camp:


Cul camp took place last week in Kilcoleman and it was a big hit with the children of the parish. Cork Camogie star Ashling Thompson was on hand to coach the kids and great time was had by all.

Senior Hurling:

We will play Upperchurch Drombane in the final of the Johnny Ryan senior league. The time date and venue are not available at the time of writing so please check the club’s social media and the Guardian fixtures for further information.

Junior A Hurling:

We play Toomevara next in the North championship at a time, date and venue to be confirmed. Please check the club’s social media and the Guardian fixtures for further information.

Palestinian Children visit:

We were hoping be hosting a group of Palestinian in Kilcoleman children on Thursday and had planned to  give them a demonstration and some coaching of our national games however the children had some visa issues which prevented them from travelling. This was very disappointing for the children who no doubt were looking forward to  a fun visit to Ireland.

Club Lotto:

There was no winner of last Monday nights jackpot. The numbers drawn were 3,11, 14 & 21. The 3x €40 winners were John Collins, Newtown. Pat Griffin, Newtown & John Flynn Nenagh. Sellers prize John Joe Ryan. This weeks draw was in Molly Bans for a Jackpot of €9,000.

Burgess GAA Notes 4th July 2016

Senior Hurling:
Our senior hurlers qualified for the Johnny Ryan league cup final on Friday last after they defeated Toomevara 1-19 to 1-16. We await the winners of the other semi final and the final will most likely take place before our next championship outing. Keep an eye on the clubs social media and the Guardians fixtures list for further information.

Junior A Hurling:
Our next opposition in the North Junior A championship will be Toomevara. There was no firm fixture information to hand at the time of writing so please check the Guardian fixture section and the clubs social media for the venue and time.
U12 Hurling:
Well done to both our u12 teams who posted two good results during the week. Our Green team enjoyed a fine 5-6 to 0-2 win over Borrisokane and our Gold team defeated Kilruane 4-8 to 0-2. Well done to all.
U14 Hurling:
Our u14’s had a good 2-14 to 1-6 home win over Borris Ileigh. Well done to players and management, keep up the good work!
U6 Hurling:
Our u6’s had a few of challenge matches against Toomevara on Tuesday night last in Kilcolman. The lads really enjoyed it. We would like to thank Toome for coming over and all who helped make the evening go off so well. For anyone interested in taking a look at the future generation of Burgess hurlers, we will be taking on Kiladangan u6’s and u8’s on Thursday July 14th in Kilcoleman. There will be no u6 or u8 training this week as Cúl Camp is taking place.
Burgess Activity Camp:
