On Wednesday evening last we were proud to host a visit by the Al Helal u14 Soccer team from Palestine. The boys got a close look at our minor hurlers as they defeated Portroe in the north Tipp minor championship. Later Fergal McDonnell gave them some coaching in the skills of hurling and the young boys even got to try their hands at the ancient game.
Club secretary Mike Carroll made a presentation of GAA gear to the Al Helal lads and after a few pictures with our minor hurlers it was back to the the clubhouse for a meal for our honoured guests.
It was a fantastic evening and Burgess GAA were proud to have hosted such a fine group young men and we hope they enjoy the rest of their visit to Ireland.
And finally thanks to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.
