Burgess GAA Notes 26th September 2016

Senior Hurling:

We exited the county championship on Sunday last after a 1-17 to 1-13 defeat to Borris-Ileigh in Dolla. Our lads gave it there all and but for an incredible late save by the Borris keeper the result could have been different. We would like to thank the players and management for the huge effort they made this year and a special mention to Stephen Murray who altered holiday plans to make himself available for the team.

Our u16’s were crowned North B champions on Saturday last when they defeated Ballina against all the odds in Portroe. Our lads showed true grit to get the win despite being reduced to 13 men after two incredibly harsh refereeing decisions. The boys are out next weekend again in the county semi-final at 12pm Saturday October 1st in Newport against the Emly Treacys combo please see the Guardian fixtures and the clubs social media to confirm this fixture.
