Burgess GAA Notes 4th October 2016

U16 Hurling:
Our u16’s were cruelly beaten in the county semi-final on Saturday by Sean Treacys / Emly who snatched a two point victory by scoring a goal with the last puck of the game four and a half minutes into injury time.

We would like to commend the lads for their efforts this year. They turned the year around after a disappointing start and claimed a fantastic north title win against he odds. Great credit is also due to management team of John O’Brien, Stephen Murray, Brian Cooney, Damien O’Brien and Declan Kirwan who left no stone unturned preparing the lads.

U6 & U8 Hurling:

The curtain came down for our u6’s and u8’s season on Saturday last when we went to Moneygall for a series of friendly games against Drom & Inch and Moneygall. The lads made great efforts in all their games and were treated in Obama Plaza afterwards. We would like to thank Mick O’Dwyer, Michael Hogan, Donie Comerford, Brian (Chopper) Hogan, Edmond Ryan and Kevin McGrath for their work coaching our boys this year. The lads have improved their skills to no end and we look forward to seeing them back in the field next year.

The following is a message from Mick O’Dwyer on behalf of the coaches.

“On behalf of all the coaches, thanks to all the boys for their commitment during the year. They’re making great strides.

Thanks to all Mammies and Daddies also for your great support.

Thanks to juvenile committee for all their support.

Finally, don’t lock away the hurleys…keep them in full view to encourage the boys to keep up the good work.😃”

Best wishes:
