Burgess GAA Notes 27th February 2017

Senior Hurling:

Our senior hurlers had a very useful challenge match against Upperchurch Drombane in Templederry on Sunday last. The neutral was necessary because of the car rally prevented access to Kilcoleman for most of the day. The match, played in horrible weather, will hopefully stand to our lads as they begin their league campaign in a reprise of last year’s league opener with a home fixture against neighbours Ballina on Sunday March 12th at 12pm. We wish our lads the best of luck and invite all of our supporters to come out and cheer on our lads in their first competitive game of the year.

North Draw details:

U21b: This year we find ourselves in a group with Ballina and Portroe with our opening game against Ballina. All fixture detail to be confirmed later in the year.

Minor b: This year we find ourselves in a group of eight teams representing ten parishes including Ballinahinch-Templederry, Borris-Ileigh, Borrisokane, Ballina, Newport, Portroe and Moneygal-Clonakenny. Our opening game will be against Portroe.

Junior A: Our first game in the league will be against Kilruane and our championship opener pits us against Nenagh Éire Óg.

Junior b: We will enter a team in the junior b league this year with our first game against Roscrea.

Membership Fees:

Membership for the coming year is now due and should be paid as soon as possible at the following rates:

Players €30/year

Ordinary members/ student €20

Club membership bundled with gym membership €100

Student club membership bundled with gym membership €90

Club Lotto:

There was no winner of last Monday nights club lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 11, 12, 14 & 28. The lucky dip winners were Martin Gleeson Clareen , Paul Griffin c/o Barry’s & Bobby Quigley Kilcolman. The sellers prize went to Mairead Darcy. This week’s draw was in Barrys for a Jackpot of €7,350. Thanks to all for your continued support.
