Burgess Gaa Notes 20th November 2017

Junior A football:

Our footballers, despite battling hard, were undone by two goals just after half time in the North final in Portroe on Saturday last. It was an entertaining game despite the horrible conditions. Hard luck to our lads and congratulations to Portroe. Final score Burgess 1-10 Portroe 3-9.

Juvenile Presentation night:

Burgess Juvenile club are holding their annual presentation night in Kilcoleman on Friday 1st December at 6pm. Medals will be presented by Donagh Maher. We are also having our annual raffle . Tickets will be distributed this week please support this vital fundraiser for the juvenile club.

Cards Night:

Cards night continues every Thursday in Kilcoleman (new building) at 8pm. We’d love to see new 45 players as well as those who were involved last year. A beginners table will be there too. Lots of laughs and chat with a cup of tea.

Indoor Hurling:

Indoor hurling continues on Tuesday evenings for u11’s throughout the month of November.

Club lotto:

There was no winner of last Monday nights club lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 16, 20, 22 & 30. The lucky dip winners were Tom Kirwan c/o Johnny Grace, Mary & Christine Kennedy Barbaha & Kaitlin O Halloran c/o Duharra. The selllers prize went to Maria Murray. This weeks draw was in Barrys for a Jackpot of €4,050.

North Junior A final venue change

It wouldn’t be November if there weren’t some late fixture changes and so…. The north final v Portroe has been moved to Port this Saturday November 18th at 2pm. We were not in a position to toss due to our field being unplayable. Please spread the word and we look forward to seeing a big Burgess support there.

Our long awaited junior A football final v neighbours Portroe takes place this Saturday November 18th in Dolla at 2pm. Best of luck to all and we look forward to seeing a big Burgess support there.

Condolences:

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Mattie Fogarty who passed away on Sunday last. Mattie was a passionate Burgess man and will be greatly missed within the club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Congratulations Duharra:

Well done to the Duharra ladies who claimed their second Munster senior camogie title at the weekend. We wish them the best of luck in the all Ireland series.

Burgess GAA Notes November 6th 2017

U21 Hurling:

Two second half goals sunk our chances in horrible conditions in Nenagh on Sunday last as our u21’s went down fighting against Silvermines.

We’d just like to say hard luck to our lads luck they played they’re hearts out. Best of luck to the mines in the final. Final score Silvermines 3-15, Burgess 1-12.

Junior Football:

Camogie Munster Final:

Best of luck to the Burgess Duharra ladies in the Munster final against Clare champions Inagh Kilnamona on Saturday November 11th at 2pm in the Gaelic Grounds. We would love to see a large Burgess support for the girls as they seek to win a Munster championship double. Also well done to he Duharra minor team who won their county final at the weekend.

We have just gotten word that the north junior football final is postponed until the weekend of November 18th. Further details will be shared as they become available.

Burgess GAA Notes 23rd October 2017

Junior Football:


Our eagerly awaited North Junior A football final against Portroe has been fixed for Sunday October 29th at 2pm in Nenagh. As always at this time of the year fixtures become a bit more fluid so be sure and check the Guardian and the clubs social media for any changes.
U21 Hurling:


Our final group game did not go ahead at the weekend with ourselves conceding a walkover to Portroe due to lack of availability of players. Both ourselves and Portroe however qualify from the group for the semi-finals.
