Thanks so much to everyone who turned up for the walk, it was much appreciated. For our organisers Pat Delaney, Elma and Aidan Dillon and for all who helped on the evening thanks again. Just to let ye know €356.65 and one 50p sterling was collected. It was a great result and a fun family evening.

Feile 2016:

We received a message from the management team of our u14 Feile na nGael team that we’d like to share.

The U14 management would like to thank the following for a very successful Feile weekend.

The U14 players, all 25 of them for their brilliant team performances in all 5 games. They played as a team and never gave up. They didn’t pick up one yellow card in all the games but played hard and fair. Their behaviour at all times was top class.

Secondly the parents for supporting them through out the competition. Bringing them training, purchasing the burgess gear and having them well turned out, looking so well in their tops, socks and togs. You all can be very proud of them as we the management are.

Lastly but most importantly the Burgess Juvenile committee. They put in a lot of hard work both preparing and making sure it all ran like clockwork on the weekend. Everything we asked for we received and a lot more. Also to everyone helped out serving food and refreshments. Remember this is all voluntary.

Thanks from the U14 Management. Hon Burgess 💚💛👍😊

Junior A Hurling:

Lee Howard and Johnny Ryan in Action against Knockshe

Our interest in the North Junior A championship ended on Saturday last in a thrilling extra time defeat to Knockshegowna in Cloughjordan. A goal in the eightieth minute secured a North final berth for Knockshe in a thrilling game where the very least Burgess deserved was a draw.

We would like to thank the hurlers and their management team for their efforts this year and a special mention to Garrett and Lee Howard who despite a family wedding at the weekend were outstanding for Burgess on Saturday.

We wish Knockshegowna the very best of luck, whoever their opposition, in the North final. I’m sure Saturday’s game will stand to them.

U8 Hurling:

The boys travelled to Dr Morris park in Thurles on Friday evening for a very enjoyable blitz where they had the opportunity to play opposition from all over the county. The boys had a great time and we would like to thank Mick O’Dwyer and all the adults who looked after our young hurlers.
