Juvenile Presentation night:

Burgess Juvenile club are holding their annual presentation night in Kilcoleman on Friday 1st December at 6pm. Medals will be presented by Donagh Maher.  We are also having our annual raffle . Tickets will be distributed this week please support this vital fundraiser for the juvenile club.

A.G.M.

Cards night:

A fundraising cards night in aid of the community alert will be held in Kilcoleman on Thursday December 6th at 8pm. Tickets are €5 and all are welcome to attend.

Indoor Hurling:

Indoor hurling continues on Tuesday evenings for u11’s throughout the month of November.

Club lotto:

There was no winner of last Monday nights club lotto jackpot. Numbers drawn were 24, 25, 28 & 30. Lucky dip winners were Sadie McGrath Newtown, Lilly Flynn Nenagh & Philip Nulty Maynooth. Sellers prize Pat Carroll. This weeks draw was in D Pallas Bar for a Jackpot of €4,150.

Fixture Update: Time Change throw in now at 3pm

The U21B semi final against Silvermines this Saturday in Nenagh is at 3pm and not 2.30 as advertised.

u21 hurling:

Our u21’s play Silvemines in the North ‘B’ semi final this Saturday November 4th in Nenagh at 2:30. All support is greatly appreciated.

Aerobics:

Please be aware that this week step aerobics is on Tuesdays and step and bar is on Tuesdays at 7.15 in Kilcoleman! Classes are 45mins and €5 pay as you go. Beginners welcome!

Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Burgess – Duharra  ladies who are through to another Munster final after their comprehensive 4-18 to 1-7 win over Granagh Ballingarry

Burgess Duharra will face Inagh Kilnamona in the Munster final after they defeated Inniscarra in the other semi final today 0-15 to 1-10. Best of luck in the final ladies!

Club Lotto:

There was no winner of last Monday night’s lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 3, 8, 13 & 18. The lucky dip winners were Paul Griffin Newtown, Una Merry Kilcolman & Damien O’Brien Ballywilliam. Sellers prize John Grace Ballyhiskey. This weeks draw was in Barrys for a Jackpot €3,750.

Burgess GAA Notes 23rd October 2017

Junior Football:


Our eagerly awaited North Junior A football final against Portroe has been fixed for Sunday October 29th at 2pm in Nenagh. As always at this time of the year fixtures become a bit more fluid so be sure and check the Guardian and the clubs social media for any changes.
U21 Hurling:


Our final group game did not go ahead at the weekend with ourselves conceding a walkover to Portroe due to lack of availability of players. Both ourselves and Portroe however qualify from the group for the semi-finals.

Cards Night:

Cards night continues every Thursday in Kilcoleman (new building) at 8pm. We’d love to see new 45 players as well as those who were involved last year. A beginners table will be there too. Lots of laughs and chat with a cup of tea.

Club Lotto:

The lucky dip winners were Sean O’Dwyer Newtown, Liam O’Donoghue Patrickswell & Dolores Murphy Nenagh. The sellers prize went to John Joe Ryan. This weeks draw was in D Pallas Bar for a jackpot of €3,650.

Mothers and Others continues each Monday night at 7.30pm in Kilcolman. All are welcome including new players

Burgess GAA Notes 14th August 2017

Senior Hurling:

We were defeated in our final group game of the county championship by Éire Óg Annacarty 2-20 to 1-17. This loss puts us into a four way relegation play off against Ballina, Carrick Swan and Kiladangan with two to go down. Kiladangan and Carrick Swan can escape relegation should they manage to win their divisional championships. We play Coolderry next week in Kilcolman in the Dermot Hogan Memorial tournament.

Juvenile clothes collection:


Burgess Juvenile Club are holding clothes collection on Saturday 26th August. Bags of clothes can be dropped to Kilcoleman any night during training between now and 26th August or bags can be dropped off to Derek Sharkey or Patricia Gibson.

Junior A hurling:

We play Borris-ileigh in the north championship Friday August 18th at 7pm in Kilcolman.

Minor Hurling:

Our minors were beaten by Clonakenny/Moneygall in the minor ‘B’ championship in Kilcolman on Friday last on a score line of Burgess 2-13 ClonaKenny/Moneygall 4-10. Hard luck lads, you put in a great effort.

U16 Hurling:


Burgess U16 played Borrisokane in round 3 of the north championship on Tuesday last at 7pm in Kilcoleman. In what was a keenly contested game with only a puck of the ball separating the teams throughout. Borrisokane lead by 2 points at half time. The game continued in the same vain for the second half with both teams fighting for every possession and score. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be Burgess day as we went down by 3 points on a final score line of Burgess 2-07, Borrisokane 1-13. Burgess can be proud of their work rate and this was their best performance so far.

U10 Hurling:

Our u10’s played a fantastic challenge against Roscrea on Saturday last. Thanks to Roscrea for coming up to us for the game. Plenty of stars for the future on show for both sides.

Club lotto:

There was no winner of last week’s club lotto draw the numbers drawn were, 2, 16, 23 & 29. The three €40 winners were Eimear Griffin Kylebeg, Mary Fogarty Pallas and Tom Martin Borrisoleigh. The sellers prize went to John Maher. This week’s draw was held in Barry’s for a jackpot of €5,550.
