Senior Hurling

Our senior hurlers bowed out of the county championship to Borrisoleigh on Saturday evening last. We were 10 points down at half time with things looking bleak but the lads mounted a fearsome comeback in the second half which saw us netting four goals.

It wasn’t enough on the night however and we were eventually beaten 4-12 to 1-25.

We would like to thank both the players and management for their efforts in the championship this year and we wish them the best of luck in the county League final replay against Eire Og Nenagh Saturday 14th August in Toomevara at 4:30pm.
Note change in date and time
I’m sure we can count on huge support for the lad’s last game of the year.

Burgess junior A’s put Lorrha to the sword

We had a good win tonight against a determined Lorrha side on a final scoreline of 2:17 to 0:10. The final score itself doesn’t tell the full story as Lorrha make us work hard for the victory. This is best exemplified by half time score where only a Kevin Nealon goal separated the teams 1:05 to 0:05. In fact it was only late in the second half that we managed to forge ahead and get the scores as Lorrha tired.
Well done to all and I’m certain tougher assignments lie ahead.
