Burgess GAA Notes 14th August 2017

Senior Hurling:

We were defeated in our final group game of the county championship by Éire Óg Annacarty 2-20 to 1-17. This loss puts us into a four way relegation play off against Ballina, Carrick Swan and Kiladangan with two to go down. Kiladangan and Carrick Swan can escape relegation should they manage to win their divisional championships. We play Coolderry next week in Kilcolman in the Dermot Hogan Memorial tournament.

U16 Hurling:

Burgess U16 played Borrisokane in round 3 of the north championship on Tuesday last at 7pm in Kilcoleman. In what was a keenly contested game with only a puck of the ball separating the teams throughout. Borrisokane lead by 2 points at half time. The game continued in the same vain for the second half with both teams fighting for every possession and score. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be Burgess day as we went down by 3 points on a final score line of Burgess 2-07, Borrisokane 1-13. Burgess can be proud of their work rate and this was their best performance so far.
